1997
The Pocket Lawyer Corporation was incorporated under the laws of Delaware on January 29, 1997, with the goal of finding innovative methods of providing access to affordable legal services. That same year, The Pocket Lawyer Prepaid Legal Services Plan, in conjunction with Self-Help Document Services, was introduced. For as little as $20, a customer could speak to an attorney on a legal matter and have a variety of legal documents prepared for a low flat fee.
2005
The Pocket Lawyer Distributor Program was created to provide Tax Preparers, EAs and CPAs with document preparation services for their clients. More than just a referral arrangement, the Distributor Program is an add-on service designed to complement an existing business. An array of promotional materials helps attract new clients and cross-sell to existing ones.
2017
The Pocket Lawyer Referral Associate Program was created for tax professionals to begin earning additional income from Legal and Business Document Preparation referrals from existing and new customers.
2018
New Referral Associate website launched to simplify the referral procedure. Referral commissions enhanced with additional bonuses and incentives.
